Clear glass does something frosted and opal glass can't: it puts the filament on show. The warmth of the light, the character of the shape, the quality of the glow, all of it is visible through clear glass in a way that changes what a fitting looks like when it's lit. That's the point of this collection.

Every shape Dulora makes in clear glass is here. GLS for general rooms. Candle and fancy round for pendants and chandeliers, where the bulb itself is part of the look. Note that candle bulbs in E27 use the standard 27mm Edison screw thread, while smaller candle fittings in Australia more commonly take E14 (the 14mm small Edison screw). Edison ST64 for bare-bulb and industrial-style fittings. Tubular for the fittings that don't take a standard shape. Oversized G95 and G125 globes for the spaces that benefit from scale.

Colour temperatures span 2200K extra warm through to 4000K natural white, so there's a tone for task lighting and a tone for atmosphere, often in the same fitting. Sockets cover B15, B22, E12, E14, E27 and G9, meaning most fittings in an Australian home have an option here. Select products carry ultra-high colour accuracy — check the specification table on the product page for the exact CRI rating per SKU, since it varies across the range.

All 240V mains products are SAA-certified and carry a warranty of up to 3 years. Most are dimmable with most incandescent and LED dimmers; check the product page for your specific globe.

Buying Guide

Why choose clear glass over opal or frosted?

The finish affects what you see when the bulb is on, not just how the light affects the room. Opal and frosted glass scatter the light evenly and hide the source entirely. The globe reads as a soft, diffused surface. Clear glass does the opposite: the filament and the lamp's shape are visible, so the bulb becomes part of the fitting rather than disappearing inside it. If you're choosing a fitting partly because of the way the bulb looks when it's lit, clear glass is the right call. If you want even, glare-free light or you're replacing a globe in a recessed or enclosed fitting where the lamp itself isn't seen, opal or frosted will serve you better.

Which shape suits my fitting?

The shape determines what works in your fitting, not just what looks good. GLS is the most familiar option; it fits the widest range of pendants, lamps, and ceiling fittings and delivers the highest light output for general use. Candle and fancy round suit decorative fittings with multiple sockets, like chandeliers and bathroom vanity bars, where the shape of the bulb matters as much as the light. Edison ST64 is a statement bulb for open or cage-style pendants where the lamp is fully on show. Tubular suit fittings designed specifically for that profile, such as some bathroom and picture lights. G95 and G125 globes work in large-scale pendant fittings where scale is part of the design intent. G9 fits smaller decorative fittings that take a bi-pin capsule rather than a screw or bayonet base.

Which colour temperature is right for my space?

The available range here runs from 2200K extra warm to 4000K natural white, with 2700K warm white and 3000K soft white in between. Extra warm (2200K) gives the deepest, most amber-tinted glow and works best in living and dining spaces, or anywhere the light's atmosphere is more important than task clarity. Warm white (2700K) is the most widely used tone  it reads as warm without feeling dim and suits bedrooms, lounges and general-purpose fittings equally well. Soft white (3000K) sits between warm and neutral and is a good choice for kitchens and spaces that need a little more brightness without losing warmth. Natural white (4000K) is the clearest and most functional of the four, suited to task lighting, home offices and bathroom mirrors, where accurate, neutral light is the priority.

Which socket do I need?

This collection covers B15 (small bayonet, 15mm), B22 (standard bayonet, 22mm), E12 (candelabra screw, 12mm), E14 (small Edison screw, 14mm), E27 (standard Edison screw, 27mm) and G9 (bi-pin capsule). B22 and E27 are the most common bases for general fittings in Australia. B15 and E14 appear in smaller decorative fittings, including many chandelier arms and candelabra-style pendants. E12 is the US candelabra standard and appears in some imported fittings. G9 is a bi-pin capsule used in smaller decorative fittings, including some wall lights and pendants. If you're unsure which base your fitting takes, check the existing bulb; the base type is printed on the cap or refer to the fitting's documentation.

Are these bulbs dimmable?

Most bulbs in this collection are dimmable, including all the candle, fancy round, GLS, globe, Edison, tubular and G9 products in the 240V mains range. The exception is the 3W Shatterproof GLS E27, which is not dimmable. Check the product page if you're specifically looking at that model. For dimmable products, Dulora recommends trailing-edge dimmers for smooth, flicker-free performance. All dimmable products are flicker-free at full brightness and throughout the dimming range when connected to a compatible dimmer. If you're not sure whether your existing dimmer is compatible, check the product page for your specific globe or browse Dulora's dimmer range (dulora.com.au/collections/dimmers) for a tested pairing.

Does colour accuracy matter when choosing a clear LED bulb?

With clear glass, the light source is visible rather than diffused, which makes the quality of the light more apparent than it would be behind frosted or opal glass. Colour accuracy, measured as CRI or Ra, determines how faithfully the light renders what it falls on: skin tones, timber, fabric, and painted surfaces. Lower colour accuracy can make these look washed out or slightly off, making them harder to pinpoint than a Kelvin mismatch, but equally noticeable.

It also matters when you're running multiple clear bulbs in the same fitting. Mismatched colour accuracy reads as inconsistent even when the Kelvin rating is identical, which clear glass makes more obvious than frosted. For spaces where this counts, living and dining rooms, bathroom mirrors, and kitchen benches look for ultra-high colour accuracy. CRI ratings are listed in the specification table on each product page. Ultra-high colour accuracy is not the same as full-spectrum lighting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear LED Bulbs

  • Are Dulora clear LED bulbs SAA certified?
  • Yes. All 240V mains products in this collection are SAA-certified for both Australia and New Zealand. Low-voltage products (12V and 24V DC) are also available in the range; certification details for those are listed on each product page.
  • Do these bulbs come with a warranty?
  • Yes. Dulora clear LED bulbs carry a 3-year warranty, depending on the product. The exact warranty term for each globe is listed on its product page.
  • Can I use clear bulbs in an enclosed fitting?
  • Most clear LED bulbs are suitable for open, semi-open and decorative fittings. Some are rated for enclosed fittings — check the product page for your specific globe before installing in a fully enclosed housing, as running a non-rated bulb in an enclosed space can affect performance and lifespan.
  • What CRI rating do these bulbs have?
  • CRI ratings vary across the range; some products have ultra-high CRI (95+), while others are at CRI90 or CRI80. The exact rating for each SKU is listed in the specification table on the product page. Ultra-high colour accuracy is not the same as full-spectrum lighting.
  • Do Dulora offer free shipping on clear bulbs?
  • Yes. Free metro delivery applies to orders over $99, and free regional delivery applies to orders over $199.
  • Are the bulbs flicker-free?
  • Yes. All Dulora clear LED bulbs are flicker-free at full brightness, with no flicker visible to the naked eye. Dimmable products also dim without flicker on a compatible trailing-edge dimmer.
