Description
Some lamps you love never came with a dimmer. The Inline Dimmer & Switch adds one. Also called a cord dimmer or in-line dimmer switch, it is a small, slim control that sits partway along a lamp's power cord, between the plug and the light. You set the brightness and switch the lamp on and off right there at the cord, with no wall switch to hunt for and no fumbling under the shade. It works with most dimmable LED, halogen and incandescent bulbs, and is backed by a 3-year warranty.
Please note: it is wired in, not plugged in
Fitting the Inline Dimmer means cutting the lamp's cord and wiring the dimmer into it, so it is not a plug-and-play accessory. Because that is a mains-voltage connection, we recommend a licensed electrician carries out the install. It is a quick job for a professional, and once it is done the dimmer becomes a permanent part of the lamp. It is for indoor use only, in dry locations.
Key Features
- Dimmer and switch in one: full brightness control plus a proper on/off, built into the lamp's own cord, with no unplugging and no wall switch to reach for.
- Broad bulb compatibility: works with most dimmable LED, halogen, incandescent and dimmable CFL bulbs.
- Trailing-edge dimming: smooth, quiet control that suits modern LEDs. It dims cleanly across the range, though very low-wattage LED lamps may not dim all the way down to off.
- Load range: handles 0 to 75 watts of LED, or 10 to 150 watts of halogen and incandescent. Check your lamp's total wattage sits within that range.
- Slim and discreet: a compact module, roughly 100 x 32 x 20 mm, in black or white to blend with the cord and the room.
- Certified and covered: RCM and CE certified, with a 3-year warranty.
Ideal Applications
It is made for plug-in indoor lamps: table and desk lamps, floor lamps, bedside reading lights and any ambient lamp you would rather be able to dim. Anywhere a lamp gives you light but no control over it, this adds the control.
Give a favourite lamp the dimmer it never came with.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How bright are Dulora bulbs?
LED brightness is measured in lumens, not watts. Here's a quick conversion guide:
- 2-3W LED ≈ 25W incandescent (200-300 lumens)
- 4-5W LED ≈ 40W incandescent (400-500 lumens)
- 6-8W LED ≈ 60W incandescent (650-800 lumens)
- 7.5-10W LED ≈ 75-100W incandescent (900-1200 lumens)
- 11-12W LED ≈ 100-125W incandescent (1300-1500 lumens)
All Dulora product pages list wattage and lumen output so you can choose the perfect brightness for your needs.
What is the lifespan of Dulora bulbs?
Dulora bulbs are designed for over 25,000 hours of use. If you use your light for an average of 3 hours per day, your LED bulb could last over 22 years. This exceptional longevity significantly reduces the frequency of replacements compared to traditional incandescent bulbs, which typically last only 1,000-2,000 hours. Note that all LED bulbs' light output gradually decreases over time, a phenomenon known as lumen depreciation.
Are Dulora bulbs dimmable?
Yes, most Dulora bulbs are dimmable, allowing you to create the perfect ambiance for any occasion. Look for the "dimmable" specification on the product page. For optimal performance, we recommend using LED-compatible dimmers. Some older dimmer switches may cause flickering or buzzing with LED bulbs. What is colour temperature and which should I choose?
Colour temperature refers to the warmth or coolness of light, measured in Kelvins (K):
- Ultra & Extra Warm (2000K-2200K): This colour range is warm and closer to a room lit by candles. It’s a very calm type of light, but it may make tasks like reading harder.
- This calming light gives off a warm glow, similar to candlelight. However, because it is such a soft light, it may not be suitable for activities that require focus, such as reading.
- Warm White (2700K-3000K): This colour creates a cozy, inviting atmosphere similar to traditional incandescent bulbs. It is ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, and dining areas.
- Natural White (3500K-4000K): Provides a balanced, neutral light perfect for kitchens, offices, and workspaces.
- Cool White (5000K-6500K): This colour delivers a crisp, energising light similar to daylight. It is best for task lighting, garages, and areas requiring detailed visibility.
Choose based on the mood you want to create and the purpose of the space.
