What is porcelain finish, and how does it differ from clear or frosted
Porcelain diffuses light through the entire outer surface of the bulb, so the whole globe glows rather than a central filament. Clear glass does the opposite: it lets the filament show through, making it visible and part of the look. Frosted glass sits between the two: it hides the filament but can still create a slight centre brightness in direct view. Porcelain eliminates that entirely. Which colour temperature is available in porcelain
Most of the porcelain range is 2700K warm white: the GLS, all three globe sizes, the candle, the fancy round, and the long tube. Two products are available at 3000K soft white: the 11W GLS E27 and the 11W G95 E27. There is no 2200K or 4000K option in the current porcelain range. If you are mixing porcelain bulbs in the same room, confirm that the Kelvin temperatures match: a 2700K and a 3000K porcelain bulb will look noticeably different side by side; this is more apparent with a diffused porcelain finish than with a clear filament lamp, where the eye focuses on the filament.
Does colour accuracy matter in a porcelain bulb
With porcelain, the finish hides the source completely, making the quality of the light more apparent than the lamp's shape.
