The Dulora Pro Outdoor Festoon is built to stay outdoors permanently. This IP65-rated modular string system uses SAA-certified 2x1.5mm² UV-stabilised rubber cabling with individually sealed E27 sockets rated for heavy rain, coastal conditions, and direct sun year after year. Each 8-metre module carries 10 sockets spaced 80 centimetres apart, and the system scales from 8 metres up to 200 metres. Each socket accepts bulbs up to 25 watts, with a maximum circuit load of 1,500 watts for the entire run. The string ships with a 3-metre heavy-duty IP65 power lead and integrated hanging loops and is sold as string only: bulbs are chosen separately. Backed by a 2-year warranty on cable and hardware.
The Rubber Cable Advantage
Most festoon strings reach their limit after a season or two outdoors. PVC cabling, used in the majority of retail and mid-range festoon products, goes brittle in the cold, sags in summer heat, cracks under sustained UV exposure, and discolours over time. Left outside permanently, it fails.
The Pro System uses 2x1.5mm² UV-stabilised rubber cabling throughout. Rubber stays pliable across temperature extremes, holds its shape between mounting points without sagging, and resists degradation in direct sun and coastal salt air. The IP65 rating applies to each socket individually, meaning each is certified for direct water jets from any direction. That is a different standard from splash protection: it is the rating required for fixtures left in place through heavy rain and coastal exposure without seasonal removal or additional weatherproofing.
Choosing Your Bulbs
The Pro System uses E27 sockets and accepts any E27 LED festoon or decorative globe up to 25 watts. Bulbs are not included, which gives you the freedom to choose the styles and colour temperature that suit your space. Colour temperature is the single most important decision: it determines the mood the lighting creates, not just its brightness.

As a general rule, festoon lighting reads best below 3000K. In outdoor social settings, warmer is almost always the right call.
The Pro System is not limited to the bulbs shown in the product dropdown. Any E27 globe can be paired with this string, including GLS styless, specialty festoon bulbs, and other configurations. Contact us for a custom globe pairing and quote.
Dimming
The Pro System supports dimming when paired with dimmable E27 LED bulbs and a trailing-edge LED dimmer connected at the power source. The string does not include a dimmer, and dimmability depends entirely on the bulbs installed. When set up correctly, you have smooth control across the entire run: full brightness for lively outdoor dining, pulled back to a low warm glow for quieter evenings. The ability to adjust a whole festoon canopy with a single control is one of the more practical upgrades available for a permanent outdoor lighting setup.
Planning Your Layout
Each module is 8 metres long with 10 sockets at 80-centimetre intervals. To work out the length you need, measure your total run and round up to the nearest 8-metre increment. For a straight pergola or verandah run, one measurement usually covers it. For an overhead grid or canopy, add the total length of each parallel row.
The included 3-metre power lead reaches from the power point to the start of the string in most standard installations. The system chains up to 200 metres and 250 sockets from a single power outlet. Each socket is rated for bulbs up to 25 watts, and the maximum load across the full run is 1,500 watts. With LED festoon bulbs at 1 to 2 watts per socket, a full 200-metre run draws well within that limit. If you are using higher-wattage bulbs, multiply your socket count by the bulb wattage and confirm the total stays under 1,500 watts before installation.
Where It Belongs
The Pro Outdoor Festoon earns its place in settings where the string is a permanent part of the space rather than something packed away at the end of summer. Residentially, it suits pergolas, verandas, alfresco dining areas, and poolside entertaining spaces where a single well-planned run defines the outdoor room. In hospitality, it belongs on café terraces, beer garden canopies, restaurant courtyards, and rooftop bars where the lighting needs to perform through every season without downtime or deterioration. At scale, the modular system handles wedding venues, winery event spaces, function lawns, and large outdoor dining precincts up to 200 metres from a single power source.

The Festoon String Light package contains everything required for basic installation and includes free 11W incandescent S14 bulbs with E27 Edison Screw bases. The string light features waterproof silicon rubber lamp holders spaced 80cm apart and has waterproof universal joints at both ends for connecting multiple strings. The string also includes a 240V Australian Standard 2-pin plug and can be used with selected LED light bulbs
The IP65 rating means these festoon lights are completely protected against dust ingress and against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This means they're fully weatherproof and can be safely used outdoors year-round, even during rain, snow, and other weather conditions. The waterproof silicon rubber lamp holders provide additional protection for the bulbs and electrical connections.
Yes, these festoon lights feature waterproof universal joints on both ends designed explicitly for connecting multiple strings. You can connect additional 20m or 10M strings to create 40m, 60m, or more lengths. The maximum recommended connection on a single power source is 1500W, as the total wattage should not exceed 1500W. LED bulbs are available as an upgrade option at purchase or can be added later. When selecting LED bulbs, ensure they're rated for outdoor use if you plan to install them outdoors.
These festoon lights are designed with a parallel wiring circuit, meaning if one bulb breaks or burns out, the rest will continue to function normally. Simply replace the non-working bulb with a new E27 (Edison Screw) bulb rated at 25W or less. This design makes maintenance simple and ensures your lighting display isn't compromised by a single bulb failure.
Each lamp holder is rated for a maximum of 25 watts, and the entire lighting chain is rated for 1500 watts. This means you can safely use bulbs up to 25W in each socket without exceeding the fixture's capacity. The included 11W incandescent bulbs, as are most LED replacement options, are well within this safety range.
Thanks to their IP65 rating and commercial-grade construction, these festoon lights can be installed outdoors year-round in most climates. The waterproof universal joints, silicon rubber lamp holders, and heavy-duty rubber cables are designed to withstand various weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold. I purchased a 10 & 20M length of the Festoon String Lights with the 4W Fancy Round Dimmable clear warm white bulbs and smart plug-in dimmer. I run them around the porch and across the pool via stainless steel cabling and they look great. They are good quality and very simple to install so great value for money. Liquid LED were fast and efficient with the delivery.
Something to consider when you purchase, the 4W are much brighter they I had anticipated and I maintain the dimmer power <10% to create mood lighting. So be careful what ambience you are after.
I don't want to penalise the lights so give them 5-stars but I would only give the dimmer 3-4 stars. It only operates on 2.4GHz WIFI and after hours of fruitless attempts I was unable to link the dimmer with Google Assistant (as stated on the website). It does have a stand alone phone app to control it, so its not the end of the world but it would have been nice to have it centrally controlled.

I paid for express and it turned up 4 days later making it late. Several bulbs were broken. Packaging is rough and doesn’t protect product.
Hi Mark, unfortunate to hear that your order arrived late. According to our record, your order was dispatched on the same day as your order in the morning with StarTrack Road Express service. It seems there was an issue within the carrier network that is out of our control.
Regardless of how perfect the bulbs are packed and how fragile tape is used on the box, unfortunate, rarely the glass bulbs are damaged during transit. The replacement bulbs will be dispatched today. Have a great day!

Liquid LEDs replaced a faulty string of festoon lights without question and their service was commendable. Only small quibble was that I had to lift every metal connector tab in the bulb holders to ensure contact with the bulb as they were all pretty flat.

We chose these lights in our last house and have ordered them again in our new location. High quality rubber designed to stay installed rather than PVC which can’t handle exterior installation over time. Someone just said the other day how the lights have “made” our outdoor area 🤗👌🏼
